Wedding season may be over but celebrities are still getting spliced, with Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks marrying beau Geoffrey Arend in New York at the weekend.
But the fashion world is already looking forward to next year for key bridal trends and our sources say it’s all in the detail, with hair accessories and decorations back in force.
In fact, celeb stylist Errol Douglas - pictured - predicts the brides of 2010 will be accessorising their hair to the hilt.
Flowers, ornaments, tiaras are all making a comeback, compared to the quite simple styles of today.
And Errol reckons heavily decorated alice bands will be the big trend for next year.
“Don’t confuse them with fascinators, which only go on one side of the head,” he says. “These designs go all the way around so you can add shape to your hair.”
In terms of hairstyles, Errol says Mad Men-type Fifties knots will be the hot look for cool brides.
“Wear them low at the crown, rather than at the nape, though,” he says. “They should be backcombed into a pod shape with a bit of movement.”
Otherwise, he adds, a Breakfast At Tiffany’s ‘princess’ fringe as worn by Audrey Hepburn in the famous film will add a touch of fashionable retro chic to the big day.
