According Rosa Clara, gold is this season's staple bridal trend.
The Spanish designer's creations had something of an Eighties feel to them, and appropriately she chose Spandau Ballet’s classic track Gold! to open her catwalk presentation at Barcelona Bridal Week.
The mettalic hue, was also present in her jewellery and accessories, including patent leather belts, crystal appliqués and spectacular sandals.
Even the models' hairstyles had a touch of sparkle with an almost imperceptible golden band, fixed on the side parting of the hair.
Most striking of all were the innovative dresses from her ‘Minimal’ line. These original creations are a mixture of ample skirts of stitched silk, combined with simple bodies. There were fashioned in the style of lightweight t-shirt material, with a low rounded neckline, asymmetric straps and exposed back.
The collection’s colour palette of golden tones combined with the pure white of satin, tulle and silk voile could not be more different from last season, when black ruled the bridal runways.
With this new line, the Catalan fashion house distances itself from it’s classic ‘princess’ style. Long flowing dresses, detailed draping and bold belts in colours like gold, caramel or nude were the order of the day.
