Unveiled: A decade of Chanel's bridal couture

by hellomagazine.com

True to form, Karl Lagerfeld wowed crowds as he revealed the latest Chanel haute couture collection, entitled "New Vintage", in Paris.

This season the grand finale showcased a fabulous, fairytale dress reminiscent of a swan.

Feathers galore, with oodles of petticoats and tiers of tulle, the dress was the star of the show.

The most recent addition adds to the already extensive list of show stopping, innovative bridal gowns showcased by the french maison over the last decade.

Coco Chanel's favourite flower is the camellia, an iconic symbol featured in her designs.

Asymmetrical cuts, babydoll looks, feathers, beaded and jewel-encrusted skirts are also inhouse trends, along with futuristic cuts contrasted with medieval influences.

A-list international supermodels have modelled Chanel collections: Russian Natalia Vodianova, Linda Evangelista, British Lily Cole and Irina Lazareanu have all been picture perfect as they glided down the catwalk.

But it doesn't stop there. Male models have also made centre stage as they strutted down the runway, with sharp ivory and metallic suits to complement bridal gowns and intricately detailed coats and boots.

Enjoy HELLO! Online's gallery of Chanel's past and present bridal designs.
