Harrods brings designers to Disney with gowns perfect for any princess

With Robbie Williams switching on the Oxford Street Christmas lights earlier this week, winter is well and truly here. Joining the festive celebration is London's iconic department store Harrods, who have unveiled their Christmas window displays with an impressive collaboration of Disney and designer gowns.

The luxury store has masterminded a collaboration between legendary animation brand Disney and ten leading fashion designers, namely Valentino, Marchesa, Elie Saab, Missoni, Oscar de la Renta, Escada, Versace, Roberto Cavalli and Ralph & Russo. And who better to complete the set of designers selected to dress up a princess than Jenny Packham? Renowned for designing the Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding look, the British designer has turned her hand to dolling up Rapunzel with her own magical look fit for finding any prince.

The design brief was to create contemporary, bespoke dresses to make every girl's dream of becoming a Disney princess possible. In addition, each of the iconic characters is displayed within their very own magical worlds to bring the fairytale to life. These displays will be an inspirational sight to ladies up and down the country looking for their perfect wedding gown. And future brides be alert, this time of month is the most common time of year for partners to pop that all-important question...

Whether you want to prance like Pocahontas by Roberto Cavalli or pretend to be Rapunzel with a design by Jenny Packham, Harrods will display an outfit this festive season to re-invoke your childhood and inspire your current bridal style.

And Knightsbridge's shoppers won't be able to pass by Versace's golden layered gown without awe. Inspired by Cinderella the dress is accessorised, of course, with that famous glass slipper...

Just imagine floating up the aisle in this Princess Tiana gown by Ralph & Russo. More a princess than a frog this layered tulle dress is truly a dream come true with its subtle mint green colouring and sweetheart neckline, the fairytale is finished off with scatterings of crystals over its cascading skirt

The sketches of the irresistible gowns were released by Ralph & Russo who designed Princess Tiana's dress, Escada for Jasmine from Aladdin and Jenny Packham for Rapunzel which featured a magical dress in pale grey adorned with handstiched beading

For an Bombay inspired wedding, why not wish on Genie in a lamp for Escada's bold creation based on Aladdin's Princess Jasmine. The designers proclaimed that their 'exotic fuchsia silk chiffon gown encompasses the fiery beauty of Jasmine, complete with an extravagant golden flower belt'

Luscious silks and bold prints set the mark for Missoni who created a Mulan-inspired kimono gown in tempting turquoise with splashes of oriental red

Designer Marchesa says the ocean-blue silk gown perfectly embodies modern feminine style, and also 'captures Ariel’s adventurous under-the-sea spirit' which Harrods' fish-filled windows display shows off to its best

Marchesa: The most perfect dress for a wedding reception, this chic and elegant deep blue silk evening gown has been beautifully crafted to combine luxurious draped and incorporates the fun and music of Ariel's character straight out of the sea

A modern interpretation of Sleeping Beauty's gown, Elie Saab encapsulates the elegance and grace of a princess with this beaded, pale pink dress showing off a cinched in waist and off-the-shoulder cut

Each dress is displayed in pride of place within a 'magical themed backdrop' which features a unique interpretation of the 10 original Disney Princesses. Suitably so, the Sleeping Beauty Aurora rests soundly in an enchanting rose-adorned bedroom

Be the most beautiful bride of all in this divine silk gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. Inspired by Snow White its intricate embroidery across the bodice and a floor-sweeping cape in signature red is picture perfect

With a reputation for luxury and glamour, Harrods celebrates in style by opening up the Christmas season with their fantastic designer Disney window displays
