Newlywed Christina Ricci tweets first picture of her beautiful bridal gown

30 OCTOBER 2013 Christina Ricci has shared the first photographs of her exquisite bridal gown.

Days after after tying the knot with James Heerdegen, Christina couldn't resist sharing two pictures on Twitter to showcase her beautiful Givenchy haute couture dress, created especially for her by Riccardo Tisci.

Rather than going down the traditional princess route, Christina exchanged vows in a white silk tulle design with Chantilly lace and satin piping.

The high neck dress was covered in delicate micro pearl embroidery and featured unusual short lace sleeves with cutouts at the shoulders. It cascaded down into a sweeping train, perfectly complemented by Christina's white tulle veil which had matching Chantilly lace appliqué.

Christina took a hands-on approach to creating the gown. Speaking to Life & Style magazine in May, she revealed she was helping the unnamed designer — "a close friend of mine" — to create the one-of-a-kind dress.

"It's fun," she said of the design process. "We are still in the initial sketching stages."

Christina, 33, and camera technician James tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in New York on Saturday evening.

The couple, who met on the set of Pan Am, became husband and wife in Manhattan's Harold Pratt House & Peterson Hall, a a town house dating from 1920 which is also the headquarters of the Council on foreign relations.

After the romantic ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed cocktails followed by dinner and dancing.

Christina and James announced their engagement in February. Speaking to People magazine this summer, the excited actress said, "Getting to say 'fiancé' instead of 'boyfriend' is my favorite thing. I can't wait for 'husband'."
