George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin look loved-up as they arrive in Venice ahead of their wedding

George Clooney and his soon-to-be wife Amal Alamuddin were the picture of happiness as they cruised down Venice's Grand Canal on Friday.

The couple were joined on a taxi boat, fittingly named 'Amore', by a group of their friends and family including Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, as they prepare to say 'I do' this weekend.

George and Amal will tie the knot this weekend

Amal cut an elegant figure in a striped monochrome dress and large sunglasses, while George looked dapper in a blue shirt and grey suit jacket.

George and Amal were seen sharing a romantic moment, smiling and gazing into each other's eyes as the boat travelled under the iconic Rialto Bridge.

George and Amal only had eyes for each other

While George has been in Italy for some time in the run up to the wedding, this is the first time that he has been seen with his bride-to-be in the city that will host their big day.

Lebanon-born Amal touched down at Milan airport on Wednesday, accompanied by her mother Barria.

As well as the happy couple, George and Amal's nearest and dearest have also arrived in Venice.

Matt Damon and his wife Luciano Barraso stepped out in the City of Bridges as have Ellen Barkin - who threw Amal a hen party several weeks ago - Miguel Ferrar and Richard Kind.
