Queen Elizabeth wore her love for Canada on her sleeve on Thursday, stepping out in an all red and white ensemble for the country's 143rd anniversary festivities.
The elegant monarch matched the colours of the Canadian flag in a red suit with white gloves and hat, as well as a gold maple leaf brooch.
Arriving on Ottawa's Parliament Hill with Prince Philip by her side, she then inspected the guard before taking in performances from a variety of Canadian musicians.
She also took time to pay tribute to the country - where she is currently on a nine-day visit - with a speech.
“I have watched with enormous admiration how Canada has grown and matured while remaining true to its history, its distinctive character and its values," she told the 70,000 people who came out to see her.
“This nation has dedicated itself as a caring home for its own, a sanctuary for others and an example to the world.”
