Cyclists Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton are anticipating Olympic success as they prepare to race for Team GB.
Thirty-six-year-old Chris, who was the team's standard bearer during the opening ceremony, said: “Realistically any medal would be an achievement."
But he added: "That’s not to say we are not hoping to win gold. It’s going to be so close that if you are up there you could win any medal."
Fellow velodrome racer Victoria, 31, echoed Chris' excitement.
"There is a feeling that anything can happen if you get it right on the night. With three or four teams having realistic chances of gold it’s going to be very intense."
Victoria, who will defend the gold she won at the Beijing games, and team-mate Jess Varnish have faith that the home crowd will give British competitors a big advantage on the track.
