Confusing the words at her Superbowl performance and her recent arrest for public intoxication, has meant that 2011 has not started well for recently-separated Christina Aguilera.
But there is some positive news for the singer as she is set to star as a music coach in a new reality TV show about finding musical talent.
The Voice will see rapper Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5's Adam Levine amongst the celebrity judges and coaches.
"I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it," said Christina.
"To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists' careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms."
And the show's producers are equally happy about her new role. "Christina has a once-in-a-generation talent - her voice is phenomenally distinctive and instantly recognisable.
"Her journey as an artist, who started so young in the music business, will be an inspiration to the talent she coaches on the show."
