Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie has once again been using her star status to bring humanitarian issues to light.
The star paid a surprise visit to refugees in Afghanistan, many of whom are still struggling to survive almost ten years after returning from exile.
In her role as UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina travelled to Kabul, and north of the city to the village of Qala Gadu. There she revisited families she met on her first trip to the nation in 2008.
Her head covered - as a mark of respect - the beauty met a group of young girls who will study at a new primary school that is being built in the village with funding from the actress.
One of the group, ten-year-old Sahira presented a with flowers on behalf of her classmates, saying: "If you build this school, I promise I will work really hard and study until the 12th Grade."
