EastEnders actress June Brown has reportedly had her varicose veins operated on in preparation for her upcoming role in West End show Calendar Girls.
"It was only a small operation and she has recovered well," says a pal of the actress, who plays Albert Square matriarch Dot Cotton in the BBC soap.
The 82-year-old will shed her clothes for scenes in the stage version of the hit 2003 film, which is based on the true story of the Women's Institute members who stripped off for a charity calendar.
June joins Mick Jagger's ex-wife Jerry Hall and former Albert Square regular Anita Dobson in the production from July 28. She'll return to EastEnders in October.
