Penelope Cruz, 39, is reportedly set to become the oldest Bond girl, after being cast in the new James Bond film.
The Spanish actress is set to turn 40 next April and according to Yahoo is signed up to appear in Bond 24 alongside Daniel Craig, which begins filming next year.
"The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details", a production insider told the website.
"She'll be a great Bond girl. Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that's totally Penelope."
Penelope would take the title of oldest Bond girl from Honor Blackman, 88, who was 39 when she played Pussy Galore in Goldfinger in 1962.
"Oscar-winning actress Penelope is currently pregnant with her second child with husband Javier Bardem, who played the notorious villain Raoul Silva, in Skyfall last year.
They also have a two-year-old son together. According to The Metro, Penelope previously said she had wanted to be a Bond girl "ever since Diana Rigg [in On Her Majesty's Secret Service]." "I loved her role, so strong and powerful", she said.
Skyfall director Sam Mendes, who had previously ruled himself out of taking the reins on the next 007 film, is now in talks to return to the Bond franchise.
