Will Ferrell has revealed that his upcoming Spanish language film Casa De Mi Padre is the "craziest" thing he had ever done.
The Anchorman star, who plays passionate Mexican Armando, is the only non-Latino in the cast.
It also includes Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, who starred in Y Tu Mama Tambien together, and up-and-coming actress Genesis Rodriguez.
"I know enough Spanish from taking it in high school and in college. I can read a fair amount of words," Will told Empire.
"But between memorising it in a foreign language and then trying to sound good, every day I felt like I'd wrapped an entire movie."
Will said the film, which is out in June, is a homage to Mexican soap operas, telenovelas.
"Every time I'd see one, I'd stop and watch for a little while. They just seemed so odd - they're kind of dated and the acting is over the top."
