Dining next to the Queen is a privilege not many can say they have enjoyed.
And it is an honour which recently fell upon Sir Terry Wogan.
The British monarch requested the veteran presenter to be seated next to her at a Windsor Castle dinner this week.
"Her Majesty was adamant that she should sit next to Wogan," says a courtier. "She is a regular listener of his programme."
When she presented him with his knighthood in 2005, she told the 71-year-old presenter that she had been listening to his radio show a couple of hours earlier.
The Good Life actress Penelope Keith was also honoured with an invitation to sit next to the Duke of Edinburgh at the same table.
