Corrie's Michael Le Vell seeks help for drug use

Actor Michael Le Vell, known for his role as Kevin Webster on Coronation Street, had admitted to seeking professional help after speaking out about his cocaine and alcohol addictions.

Following a 90-minute meeting with Coronation Steet producers it was agreed that Michael will take a break from the soap to deal with his issues.

Michael has openly thanked his girlfriend, 38-year-old Louise Gibbons for giving him the strength to confront his deamons and to apologise to his fans for taking the A class drug.

"It was a stupid mistake. But that episode is all behind me now. My life is now back on track, with a great girl at my side, after two years of stress".

The 49 year-old actor is expected to return to the soap on 21 March, where he will stay until the end of April after which he will be written out of the show again.
