By now, she must be used to such warm receptions wherever she goes. The US President's wife Michelle Obama was enveloped in hugs from youngsters at a Latin American bilingual school in Washington as she dropped by to join in with the celebrations of a Mexican holiday.
After making her introductions, the First Lady took her seat and clapped along while children performed traditional dances before singing their school song.
And in a speech after the demonstration, the 45-year-old had a secret to share with the students. She told them the most surprising thing about her move to the White House is how much fun it is to be First Lady.
The former lawyer said she loves her job because she thinks public service is very important. "I wanted to make my career be something that helped others, and being the First Lady is like the icing on the cake of helping other people," she said.
