A mosaic of Harry Potter author JK Rowling made from 48,000 bricks of Lego has been unveiled at Legoland Windsor after the writer topped a survey to find the "ultimate hero" of the past decade.
Children visiting the Berkshire attraction on Monday's Bank Holiday joined in the big project to help create the likeness, made from white, grey and yellow bricks, which is so tall a ladder needed to be used to add the final pieces.
The honour followed a vote conducted by the theme park asking 700 children under the age of 14 to name their ultimate hero or heroine of the last ten years. JK Rowling came in first with more than a third of the vote, followed by High School Musical's Zac Efron.
US president Barack Obama took third place, followed by Cheryl Cole and David Beckham respectively.
