A promise by singer Cher to come and watch her son dancing if he was saved by viewers on a US TV show seems to have done the trick.
Chaz Bono was rescued from the bottom two in Dancing With the Stars after his supportive mum asked her followers for support on Twitter.
"God hope Chaz hangs on till next week so I can come sit in the Audience & Watch," she posted.
This week celebrity contestants were asked to choreograph a dance which reflected the most meaningful moments of their lives.
TV presenter Ricki Lake scored the highest marks from the judges after her portrayal of love after divorce.
Activist and wroter Chaz, however, came last in the judges' scores.
He danced a rumba to a song which his late father Sonny had written.
The 42-year-old, who was born a woman and changed gender, described his dance as a representation of 'now' - the most meaningful time of his life.
"I'm happier than I've ever been," he said.
This impressed the viewers who saved Chaz and ousted reality TV star Kristen Cavallari.
Cher was quick to tweet: "Yeah CHAZ. Looks like I'll b in the Audience next Week Lovelies thank u SO MUCH."
