Bridesmaids actor Chris O'Dowd has admitted that he finds his sex symbol status "fun - but not real."
The Irish star, who has recently acted in musical The Sapphires, has said that being a heart-throb has taken some getting used to.
The star said: "I wear that status like a hair vest. It's very fleeting and it's been fun but I'm ensuring that all the characters I play from now on are pretty despicable. I can't be dealing with all that nonsense, because it's not real."
As well as seeing his career skyrocket, the actor has received a stamp of royal approval from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The heir to the throne and his wife admitted to Chris that they watched hit comedy Bridesmaids a week after they had married. Chris, who has recently got married himself to TV presenter Dawn Porter, was said to have shared some laughs with the couple.
He said: "There's a picture that somebody gave me at my wedding of myself and Dawn talking to Kate. It's a good one. I had clearly told a big joke that they're laughing at."
