Judge orders Dennis Hopper to pay wife and child

Tuesday April 6, 2010

Dennis Hopper's estranged wife and daughter can live on his property while the couple resolve their divorce case, a US judge has ruled.

The actor, currently fighting prostate cancer, has also been ordered to pay $12,000 each month in spousal and child support.

The 73-year-old, who is said to be "desperately ill", did not attend the hearing.

"There needs to be street-cleaning on both sides of this street," judge Amy Pellman told the parties, noting that the couple's seven-year-old daughter is about to undergo the traumatic loss of her father.

Easy Rider star Dennis has been given just days to live.
