Peter Jackson has finished filming his two part Lord Of The Rings prequel The Hobbit.
The highly anticipated big screen adaptation of JR Tolkein's book, with an all-star cast including Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellen and Benedict Cumberbatch, has finished its 266 day shoot.
Director Peter wrote on his Facebook page: "We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit.
"Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!"
The 3D film will be released in two parts, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in December this year and The Hobbit: There And Back Again in December 2013.
Peter will be offering fans a sneak preview at San Diego Comic-Con next week.
