Wayne Rooney has flown to Switzerland with the England team – despite allegations over his private life.
The Football Association confirmed that the star striker had made the trip on Monday with the rest of the squad for a qualifying match for the European Championships in 2012.
"It's business as usual," an FA spokesman said ahead of the game.
But manager Fabio Capello is said to be privately concerned and will consider the 24-year-old player's state of mind before deciding whether to include him in the team.
Meanwhile, his wife Coleen, also 24, was said to be at her parents' home in Cheshire.
The couple - who married in a lavish 2006 ceremony in Italy - have a ten–month-old son named Kai.
In some good news for the sports star, his sponsor Nike has said the latest allegations have no bearing on his contract with the company.
A spokesman for Nike said: "We have worked with Wayne for seven years and he continues to be a Nike athlete.
"This is a private matter for Wayne and his family and we have no further comment to make at this time."
Another sponsor Coca-Cola said: "This is a private matter for Wayne and his family".
