Wayne Rooney is due to train with the England team – despite allegations over his private life.
The Football Association said their star striker would fly out to Switzerland on Monday with the rest of the squad for a qualifying match for the European Championships in 2012.
"It's business as usual," an FA spokesman said.
But manager Fabio Capello is said to be privately concerned and will consider the 24-year-old player's state of mind before deciding whether to include him in the team.
Meanwhile, his wife Coleen, also 24, was said to be at her parents' home in Cheshire. The couple - who married in a lavish 2006 ceremony in Italy - have a 10–month-old son named Kai.
