Sir Philip Green is expanding his Topshop/Topman empire in the US with a Fifth Avenue opening this autumn.
The 40,000 square foot flagship store in Manhattan will be Topshop’s second largest behind the Oxford Street store, his Arcadia retail group said on Wednesday.
Sir Philip will spend $40m-50m fitting out the Manhattan store as well as on four new store openings in San Diego, Washington, Houston and Atlanta later in the year.
The Manhattan grand opening is scheduled to be on the corner of 49th street in a beautiful art deco building, adjacent to the Rockefeller Centre.
Topshop is currently to be found in other US cities such as Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles and the multinational retailer has 440 shops across 37 countries.
