Exclusive: Kimberley and Alfie record Team GB song

Monday May 7, 2012

HELLO! can reveal that Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh and tenor Alfie Boe have recorded the official Team GB song for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

The musical duo will perform their version of Queen’s One Vision in front of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the launch party for 2012’s Team GB and Paralympics GB – which will be held in London on Friday May 11.

The track, which also features the Youth Music Voices choir, will go on general release the same day.

Talking exclusively to HELLO! about the single, Kimberley said: "Everyone wants to be a part of the Olympics and it’s great to be involved and support the team."

She added that working with Alfie was a pleasure.

"He has got an absolutely amazing voice. He is a really chilled-out Northern guy and is good fun.

"Then he goes in the studio and suddenly this amazing, faultless voice just comes out with no effort whatsoever and you are like, ‘Woah.’"
