He may have completed his planned five-day trek, but Prince Harry is not able to return home from the North Pole just yet.
The runway of the Borneo Polar landing strip cracked from extreme cold, preventing planes from taking off or landing. This left the royal stuck in sub-zero temperatures.
"Prince Harry was due to leave the Artic today, but owing to damage to the runway at Ice Camp Barneo, his departure has been delayed," a spokesperson for St James' Palace said.
"He will now spend an extra day with the team and return to Barneo tonight to await the first available flight."
He is required to return to Britain for his day job in the British Air Force.
"As it stands, he will not miss any military committments," said the spokesperson.
The 26-year-old embarked on the trek with wounded servicemen in order to raise money for Walking with the Wounded, a charity of which he is patron.
