While audiences in the UK will have to wait until May 14 to catch the prequel to box office hit The Da Vinci Code, the film's star, Tom Hanks, was in Tokyo this week presenting the flick to Japanese cinema goers. With him was his beautiful Israeli co-star Ayelet Zurer.
In the movie, the latest adaptation of a novel by Dan Brown, Tom returns to his role as symbologist Robert Langdon, prior to his exposure of The Da Vinci Code's church cover-up. Tom's character is recruited after the Pope dies and four cardinals who are favourites to succeed him are kidnapped. With Ayelet - one of Israel's most acclaimed actresses, who's often compared to Julia Roberts – at his side he races through the Vatican interpreting clues which lead to an ancient secret society.
"He is not the man the Vatican trusts - he is the man the Vatican needs," explains director Ron Howard, who also worked on the earlier film.
