The Queen surprised London commuters on Monday as she took the train to King's Cross.
Just like any other passenger, the British monarch boarded the commuter train at King's Lynn in Norfolk, near her 20,000 acre estate at Sandringham where she has been staying since before Christmas.
"She looked just like any other smartly-dressed lady getting on the train. People couldn't believe their eyes when they saw her," one onlooker says.
Buckingham Palace officials are understood to have booked all the seats in the first class compartment to ensure the Queen could sit undisturbed with her aides.
The monarch also took the train on her way to Sandringham back in December.
The Duke of Edinburgh is believed to be staying behind at the royal estate for some shooting parties with friends.
