Belgian make-up artist Peter Phillips has been appointed creative and image director of Christian Dior make-up, effective immediately.
“I am honoured by the responsibilities that are entrusted to me by Christian Dior make-up, whose values, savoir-faire and innovation I respect,” the world-known make-up artist said.
Philip, who was the former global creative director of Chanel cosmetics, has gained world-wide recognition for his innovative thinking and use of unexpected materials.
His range of trend-setting collections included the 2009 nail-polish colour Jade Le Vernis, which turned out to be so popular that it sold out at lightning speed.
“His talent and his unique and modern vision of beauty are recognised around the world,” Claude Martinez, president and chief executive officer of Parfums Christian Dior, said in a statement.
