Veteran actress Betty White was honoured on Saturday with the American Crystal Cross Humanitarian Award.
The Hot in Cleveland star was chosen for her efforts to raise funds for animals, particularly in areas struck by disaster.
"With her lifelong advocacy of caring for animals, Betty White is the consummate embodiment of this new and exciting venture, and an inspiration to everyone at the American Red Cross," said a statement.
Betty, 89, was humbled to receive the award, and said during her speech, "My earliest memories were that when anything went wrong the Red Cross was always there"
Also in attendance at the gala evening were Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel, as well as socialite Paris Hilton.
