The Austrian capital of Vienna will be hosting the 60th Eurovision Song Contest next year from the semi-finals on 19 May to the grand final taking place on 23 May 2015.
Conchita Wurst, who won the international music competition in Copenhagen this year with her song Rise Like A Phoenix, will definitely be one of the performing live acts in Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle.
Vienna is a world class destination for culture, music and the arts. Every night around 10,000 music fans are treated to live classical music, and each year the Vienna concert schedule includes more than 15,000 events of various sizes and genres.
Previous large-scale events that have been hosted in Vienna include the Life Ball, World AIDS Congress, the European Congress of Radiology and the Euro 2008 football championships.
The capital city meets all the requirements for hosting major events, from the Vienna International Airport welcoming direct flights from 177 destinations, a highly reliable public transport network, a pick of 60,459 hotel beds spread across 428 different hotels, and around a total of 7,400 bars and restaurants to choose from.
