Model turned successful businesswoman Elle Macpherson lined up in front of a gaggle of scantily-clad mannequins this week to introduce a new exhibition entitled Undercover: The Evolution Of Underwear.
“I have been passionate about underwear since I was a little girl,” says the self confessed underwear junkie, who started her own lingerie line 17 years ago in a low-key venture with a New Zealand-based manufacturer. Today Elle Macpherson Intimates is a global brand, and the UK's biggest seller in 2008.
The exhibition reveals the dramatic changes underwear has undergone over the years, and explores how women show off or disguise their assets.
This constant development is very much something Elle can relate to. "As I’ve got older, my designs have become more interesting," she explains about her own line. "As my body shape has changed, so the proportions of my bras and knickers have changed, according to what works for me today.”
