Made in Chelsea stars join charity surf

Friday July 12, 2013

Made in Chelsea’s Andy Jordan and Louise Thompson attended a charity surfing event in Cornwall this week.

The couple joined fundraisers in the water at Fistral Beach in Newquay for the Wave Project’s Surf Challenge for Autism 2013.

The event, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, supports young people suffering from emotional and mental health issues.

Andy and Louise joined competitors - some of whom had travelled from Wales and even the Netherlands - in wetsuits to take to the water.

Andy is a keen surfer and was particularly thrilled to join in the event.

The couple were joined by around 1500 spectators who gathered in glorious sunshine to catch the display.

“Events like this are so important, not only in creating opportunities for people with disabilities, but also in challenging people’s perceptions of disability and what’s possible,” Big Lottery Fund’s Helen Bullough said.
