Proud father, Colin Farrell praised his ten-year-old son James at the Winter’s Tale premiere in New York City on Tuesday.
James lives with Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that is known to impair speech, movement and balance, and according to his father he “is an absolute stud”.
“Every day, just breaking down boundaries. He’s an amazing boy,” Colin said about his son from a last relationship with model Kim Bordenave.
The 37-year-old actor also has four-year old son Henry with Polish-Mexican actress Alicja Bachleda.
The doting father has said James was the main inspiration for him to check into rehab for problems with drug and alcohol abuse in 2005.
“Everything he’s achieved in his life has come through the presence and the kind of will that is hard work. He’s a lot to be inspired by.
“Things like walking and talking and eating and feeding himself, all those things that so many of us naturally take for granted because they come so easily, to James, they come somewhat harder…I remember the days when he couldn’t watch ten minutes of a film because he couldn’t sit still, but now he can”.
Colin’s upcoming film Winter’s Tale is to be released in the UK on 21 February.
