Claire Danes' pregnancy will not be written into Homeland, it has been revealed.
The 33-year-old actress, who will return to US screens in September for a second series of the award-winning TV show, is expecting her first child with husband Hugh Dancy.
But her alter-ego Carrie Mathison will remain "un-pregnant", executive producer Howard Gordon said at San Diego's Comic-Con, reported Vulture.
The trailer for season two, which will air in the States on September 30, was shown at the pop-culture event.
It showed Damian Lewis's character Brody insisting that he's a "US congressman" in office, while Carrie, who has been teaching, has been enjoying some relaxing time with her family.
Howard continued: "The first two episodes take place in Beirut and we actually shot it in Israel. That's where we'll find some of the [early] action taking place."
