No more 'Live at Studio 5' for football star Ian Wright

Friday August 13, 2010

Football star-turned TV presenter Ian Wright will no longer be appearing on his nightly Channel 5 TV show Live at Studio 5, after the station reportedly let him go.

Ian is said to have been relieved of his position as a co-host with Kate Walsh and Melinda Messenger (pictured) after he refused to endorse the channel's ailing talent show Don't Stop Believing.

A friend of the former Arsenal striker told the Daily Mail: "Ian is not a puppet. Dont Stop Believing has lost nearly a million viewers and he was told to come on air and say how great the show was, but he refused."

Ian's spokesperson confirmed the end of his run on the show, though gave no clarification on the reason for his exit.
