Princess Beatrice was left shaken but unhurt after her car was sandwiched between a bus and a coach in heavy traffic.
The accident happen at a roundabout near London's Hyde Park between 1.30 and 2pm on Monday - just after the 22-year-old royal left St James' Palace where she has an apartment.
Bea had been driving herself and her protection officer to Goldsmiths University where she is studying.
She stood on the side of the road to phone her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, and reassure them that she was alright.
Meanwhile, her Scotland Yard minder swapped insurance details with other drivers.
Her vehicle – a BMW with personalised number plates – is thought to be a write-off.
