Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom returned to his hometown this week to receive an honorary degree.
The star - who was flanked by his fiancée, model Miranda Kerr, and parents - donned a red gown and black mortar board for the ceremony at the University of Kent.
"I have lived near the university so it's like my playground," he told reporters at the event in Canterbury cathedral.
"It's a huge, huge honour and I feel chuffed, as does my mother - nobody more than my mother."
Orlando graduated from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama but missed the ceremony because he was filming Lord Of The Rings.
