Not known for her shy and retiring nature, Lady Gaga has spoken out about the controversial 'meat dress' she wore to the MTV Video Music Awards.
And she's also revealed more about the beefy bikini she donned for a cover of Vogue.
Appearing on the Ellen Degeneres Show, the vegan televison presenter asked the 24-year-old the question on everyone’s mind: why?
Gaga explained “It has many interpretations, but for me this evening it’s if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones”.
Then holding up a copy of her Vogue cover, she announced “I am not a piece of meat.”
Seemingly understanding, Ellen presented the Bad Romance singer with an alternative: A bikini make out of kale.
