British singer George Michael has been jailed for eight weeks after crashing his car while under the influence of cannabis.
The star was greeted by a hoard of photographers as he arrived at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Tuesday to hear the sentence (pictured).
The jail term follows an incident that took place in July of this year, when the 47-year-old was arrested after driving his Range Rover into a shop in Hampstead, north London.
Last month, George – real name Georgios Panayiotou – appeared in court where he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and possession of the drug.
District Judge Robin McPhee gave him an interim six-month driving ban and warned him that he could be jailed.
