After nearly 20 years away from the stage, Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones has made her first appearance on Broadway.
Mrs Michael Douglas received rave reviews for her work in a revival of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music at the weekend.
Words including "outstanding" and "dreamy" were used to describe the brunette actress in the role of Desiree Armfeldt.
Catherine appears in the show alongside English actress Angela Lansbury, 84, (pictured left) who stars as her formidable mother.
Speaking after Sunday's opening performance, the mum-of-two, who won an Oscar for Chicago, said: "I can't believe it has taken me 20 years to actually do this."
"It's quite shocking because I love the camaraderie and I just love the theatre life. It was just like going back to home to a family."
Catherine was proudly watched by her husband Michael on her big night.
The couple recently relocated to New York from Bermuda while Catherine stars in the play and their children Dylan, nine, and six-year-old Carys, attend school there.
