When he gives up the Tardis at the end of this year, Dr Who star David Tennant is set to raise his profile on US TV.
The Scottish actor will present Masterpiece Contemporary, an American programme bringing modern British dramas to Stateside audiences.
Masterpiece, which is broadcast on the Public Broadcasting Service network (PBS), groups UK favourites into three themed collections, each introduced by a different host. Masterpiece Contemporary, which will air in the autumn, includes William Hurt's Endgame.
In turning host the 38–year-old will follow in the footsteps of Alan Cumming and Laura Linney.
