Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent are among the friends mourning the loss of hip hop star Nate Dogg, who has passed away, aged 41.
Writing on Twitter, Snoop said: "We lost a true legend… One of my best friends and a brother to me since 1986". He and Snoop took similar stage names after meeting in high school as teenagers.
Nate, real name Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, died in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a bout of ill health.
He has had two strokes in the last four years. The cause of death is currently unknown.
The singer shot to fame in 1994 after collaborating with Warren G.
He also worked with the likes of Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop, and 50 Cent.
Fiddy posted on his Twitter account: "God bless him. R.I.P He meant a lot to West Coast hip hop. I've always been a fan of it. 50cent."
