Arnold Schwarzenegger has apologised after it emerged he fathered a child with a member of his household staff more than a decade ago.
The news follows his separation from wife of 25 years Maria Shriver earlier in May this year.
Maria moved out of the family home after the former governor of California acknowledged paternity.
In a statement to the LA Times, the actor-turned-politician said: "There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused."
The 63-year-old added: "I have apologised to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."
