Samuel L Jackson showed his allegiance to English football on the red carpet at the ESPY sports awards this week, holding aloft a personalised Liverpool FC shirt as he arrived to host the event for the fourth time.
The 60-year-old Coach Carter star has apparently been a big fan of The Reds since filming 2001 Brit flick The 51st State in the British city.
Walking away with five trophies on the night, including male athlete of the year - ending Tiger Woods' five year reign - was swimming sensation Michael Phelps, who was presented with his trophy by glamorous Demi Moore.
Wimbledon winner Serena Williams, who attended with big sister Venus, narrowly missed out on the chance to pick up the female athlete accolade, which went to Olympic gymnastics champion Nastia Liukin.
Other famous faces attending the event – which will air in the US on Sunday – included Stevie Wonder, and Orlando Bloom's model love, Miranda Kerr.
