Putting their nerves to one side, Alex Jones and Jason Manford got off to a flying start as the new hosts of The One Show on Monday evening.
The duo have taken over on the BBC flagship show from Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, who switched to ITV earlier in the year.
On their debut, Jason and Alex, 32, interviewed actress Whoopi Goldberg and introduced features on car clamping and Blackpool's role as a WWII airbase.
"It's our first day," comedian Jason, 29, said as the show began. "It could go either way, I suppose. Otherwise, in half an hour's time we will be escorted off the premises."
"But I have made name badges for everyone, because I presume people may not know who we are."
The One Show hit headlines in March of this year when Adrian Chiles announced his departure. He was followed by co-presenter Christine – who bears an uncanny resemblance to Alex – in June.
