Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has left hospital, four days after he was attacked following a rally in Milan.
A spokesman said that the statesman had been in pain, with trouble eating, but had a "more serene" night last night.
He has cancelled public engagements for the next two weeks and is expected to spend the time recovering at his villa in Milan.
Mr Berlusconi suffered two broken teeth and a broken nose during Sunday night's attack, when he was hit with a model of the Milan Cathedral.
