The Duke of Edinburgh is set to return to work after his recent heart scare.
Prince Phillip is to be the guest of honour – along with Prince Albert of Monaco – at a Cambridge University dinner marking the centenary of Captain Robert Falcon Scott's expedition to the Antarctic on Wednesday.
The royal pair will meet descendants of the explorer, who reached the South Pole 100 years ago but died on the return journey with the rest of his party.
Philip is in good health after spending five days in hospital in Cambridge over Christmas, having surgery to unblock a coronary artery.
The royal, pictured attending a church service with the Queen in Norfolk over the weekend, was the first member of the royal family to visit the Antarctic when he went there in December 1956.
His next scheduled royal engagement is on February 5. He will attend the Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary parade in King's Lynn, Norfolk.
