It will be music to the ears of Glee fans. Britney Spears has begun filming her cameo role for the hugely popular series in a special episode devoted to her songs.
"About to do my first shot of the day for Glee tweeties!," the 28-year-old pop star wrote on Wednesday. "Here we goooo!"
A few hours later she added: "What's up Gleeks? Having so much fun on set!! Can't wait for you guys to see the episode!"
The Circus star also posted a picture on her Twitter page of her seemingly in costume next to her assistant Brett Miller.
Last month, the show's creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the episode will poke fun at teacher Mr Schuester's reluctance to cover the singer's music.
"The entire episode is Mr Shue saying, 'I don’t want to do Britney'," he said. "We're doing it in a really fun, hallucinogenic way."
He also said the episode would be "reverential and so kind. We are handling Britney with kid gloves."
"I really admire what she's done with her life and how she has turned herself around," Ryan added. "Britney Spears is pop culture."
Emmy-nominated Glee, which returns to US TV next month, follows a group of kids in a school show choir.
The homage to Britney follows episodes dedicated to Madonna and Lady Gaga.
