With The Golden Globes behind us and the Baftas and Oscars yet to come, awards season is officially in full swing and Julianne Moore has received her first honour.
Harvard University has bestowed upon The Kids Are All Right actress the Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year award. It will be presented on January 27 and will include a day of celebrations and a 'roast' in her honour.
The annual award – presented by the oldest college undergraduate theatre group in the US - dates back to 1951 and is given to performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment."
Past winners include Katherine Hepburn, Joanne Woodward, and Lauren Bacall with more contemporary winners including Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway.
“We’re very excited” said a spokesperson on this year’s pick.
“Julianne Moore has made a lot of bold choices in her career.
"She has acted in everything from movies to independent films to theatre to television. She has even authored two children’s books,” she added.
